What actually goes wrong
Nobody abandons a remodel over the tile.
They abandon it because the date moved twice, a trade did not turn up, and the person who could answer the question stopped returning calls.
The date that keeps moving
Permitting and cabinetry lead times are the two things that push a schedule, and both are knowable in week one. A start date given before either is checked is a guess.
The trade who is on another job
A contractor bidding on price uses whoever is free. The same subs, used for years, cost slightly more and turn up on the day, which is the whole difference.
The decision made in the driveway
Something is found behind a wall, a number is said out loud, work continues. Six weeks later nobody agrees what was said. It belongs in writing, with a photograph, before it is fixed.

Before you call
The questions every homeowner asks.
How long will my project actually take?
A kitchen or bath is typically a few months end to end. If it is a major addition, the design, plans and permitting alone can take up to a year before anyone breaks ground. The schedule is written down before you sign, and updated in writing when it moves.
Do you use subcontractors?
Yes. As a licensed contractor in the state of Arizona, we work with a fixed set of trades we have used for years rather than whoever is cheapest that month. They are supervised by our own project manager, and they are the same faces from job to job.
Can I live in the house during the work?
Usually, for a single-room remodel, with the space sealed and a daily clean. For a whole-home renovation or a major addition it is worth planning to be out, and we will tell you honestly which one this is.
What happens if something is found behind a wall?
It is documented, photographed and priced before it is fixed, and it comes out of the contingency line that was in the estimate from the beginning. Nothing gets rebuilt on a verbal decision in a driveway.
Do you do smaller repairs as well?
Yes. There is a separate home repair and maintenance service, which is often how a relationship starts and is also what keeps a finished remodel looking finished.
